Natural Resource Rents, Institutional Quality, and Environmental Degradation in Resource-Rich Sub-Saharan African Countries

Environmental degradation concerns are increasing worldwide. Moreover, in sub-Saharan African countries, these dominant because of an abundance natural resources and exhaustion that tend to cause carbon emissions. This has created a huge interest among academics investigating the relationship between resources, institutional quality, environmental degradation. Since countries resource-rich, current study investigates how resource rents quality impacted selected from 1994 2020. Through employing GMM estimation technique, findings show positively linked with is closely related Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, which stipulates worsens at initial stage economic development developing countries. The also found rules regulations set by governments have not been implemented manner reduces region. Worth noting region should collaborate design its policies line Sustainable Developmental Goals. first step towards sustainability.
